In the Face of Winter
The greenness of Spring encroaches Winter's edge, the softness underfoot evident of change and the passing of time.
The furled leaves blow away revealing tufts of yellowed hope. Their determination a reminder of resilience in the unseen future.
Skies open to cry down, occasionally passing through each space to nourish soils long abandoned for the coming of chilly imposition.
Still though, daylight breaks into the shield of desolate lands awaiting renewal. Their slumbers awakened finally by warmer winds and dewy affection.
